The impact of coaching

In 2004 a CIPD survey of 500 organisations found that:

  • 99% agreed that coaching could produce tangible benefits to both individuals and their organisations.
  • 93% agreed that coaching and mentoring are key mechanisms for transferring learning from training courses back to the workplace
  • 92% agreed coaching can have a positive impact on the bottom line
  • 96% agreed coaching is an effective way to promote learning in the organisation

Personally I have found that being coached, and learning how to coach has been a life changing experience.

Its allowed me to connect with the idea of mastery and given me a language to help examine and articulate what it might take to be on a journey of simply trying to get better, and better, and better at something - maybe even everything.
